The Washington Wizards have been talking about making changes to their logo and uniforms for months now, and the new uniforms are finally here. And yes, they were worth the wait.

The teal-and-gold atrocity is finally a thing of the past, and Washington D.C.‘s basketball team will be rocking red, white, and blue again. AWESOME. Check out the road jersey after the jump.
Okay, so that one still needs a little work. It’s not terrible, just... That’s a lot of red. Sort of hurts the eyes a little bit. But hey, it’s not teal! It’s not black-and-gold!
And most importantly, we won’t be an outright laughing stock anymore. It’s a credit to Ted Leonsis to have gotten this done so quickly. Normally it takes an NBA team two years to change their look, but Leonsis expedited things for the Wiz, and we’re all grateful.
Small victories, you know? Baby steps. Speaking of baby steps...
If you think this isn’t the first step to eventually changing the team name back to the Bullets, then you’re clearly not paying attention. You can find lots more new images over at SB Nation DC or at the Wizards Team Store. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go buy 50 of these hats.
