Chris Bosh has been the Miami Heat’s top scorer in two of the first three games of the Eastern Conference Finals, opposite the Chicago Bulls. Given that Bosh struggled against the Bulls during the regular season, and that Chicago boasts the best defense in the league, and that Ch Bo* is not renowned as a fighter on the court, this is a surprise. Why the difference?
Was Chris Bosh Motivated By Carlos Boozer’s Dig?
Because Carlos Boozer talked mess.
That’s been a pet theory of some, that Boozer’s not-subtle-enough dig at Bosh by saying the Heat had “two great players” has motivated Bosh to the point that he is laying waste to Chicago.
One subscriber to that theory: Dwyane Wade. From Israel Gutierrez of the Miami Herald:
Wade said Chris has been a different player since he heard of the Boozer comments.
“Any great player is going to respond.” Wade said. “I was glad he said that about Chris because he came in with a different focus.”
Great players probably shouldn’t need opponents to crack wise in order to get motivated; you think Kevin Garnett needs disrespect to actually feel disrespected? That’s something the Heat have seemed to lack in parts of this virgin season together -- constant motivation to dominate. Bosh has it now. That makes this team worlds better, it seems.
