Rich Cho Fired; Blazers President Blames Chemistry With Paul Allen

As you may have presumed, Rich Cho was fired as general manager of the Portland Trail Blazers at least partially for not seeing eye-to-eye with owner Paul Allen, team president Larry Miller told CBS Sports. It sounds like that was the main thing, in fact, with Miller saying, "I think the big issue was chemistry between him and the owner."

Miller denied that the disagreements between Cho and the rest of the organization on whether to suspend Brandon Roy and what to do about Greg Oden's future with the team in light of his most recent injury had an effect on the decision to fire him.

He also didn’t rule out the possibility of the team making it through the NBA Draft and all the way to training camp without hiring a replacement GM, which ... all right, wow. Director of college scouting Chad Buchanan will be responsible for personnel decisions in the interim.
