VIDEO: Oklahoma City Thunder Fans Greet Team At Airport At 1 A.M.
Attention all NBA fanbases: your claim to being the "best fans in the NBA" is temporarily on hold until you can top what this large group of Oklahoma City Thunder fans did greeting their team at the airport on the night following their elimination in a Game 5 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
This three-minute video, recorded at approximately 1 a.m. local time, shows tons and tons of Thunder fans waiting at the gate outside the very hanger the Thunder team plane landed. It’s a tradition that has gone on throughout the playoffs, but it was even more special knowing so many fans of the team were there to support the players and coaches after what had to be the most crushing loss of their NBA careers.
The video itself is pretty brilliant too, with Kevin Durant shaking everyone's hands, James Harden dancing to "Fear The Beard" chants and coach Scott Brooks wearing a smile that reflects just how much the moment meant to him.
Did I mention that all this happened at 1 a.m. yet?
