Michael McDonald was born in St. Louis and grew up in nearby Ferguson before moving to L.A. The word Miami appears nowhere on his Wikipedia page. Why did he sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Game 1 of the NBA Finals at the Miami Heat's arena? I have no idea, but here is the evidence:
