Heat Vs. Mavs Score, Game 1: LeBron James Hits Buzzer Beater, Miami Lead After Third Quarter

The Dallas Mavericks have been ahead and keeping momentum for a solid chunk of this game, but it appears that Game 1 of the NBA Finals is now swinging in the direction of the Miami Heat. LeBron James hit a stunning buzzer beater three-point shot as time expired in the third quarter, giving the Heat the lead by a score of 65-61 at the end of the third quarter.

Obviously the Mavericks are still very much in the game, but that shot by James had the feel of a serious momentum changer. James is now 4-4 from downtown on the night and he has 19 points overall. Dwyane Wade had an average first half, but he was much better in the third quarter and as a result, all of the members of the 'Big Three' are now in double figures.

The Mavs' offense has dried up considerably in the last six minutes, and they might be relying on some more miracles from Dirk Nowitzki to keep pace with Miami's offense as the game goes on. This is still very much a defensive encounter, but shot making will become more and more important as the game goes deeper into the fourth quarter.
