LeBron James Clarifies Post-Finals Address To Haters

After the Miami Heat were sunk in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, awarding the Dallas Mavericks the 2011 NBA Championship, one LeBron James had a few disparaging remarks for all those who derive glee from his failure. On Tuesday, he talked to the media for about 20 minutes, and spent part of that clarifying his remarks.

As reported by Ira Winderman, via PBT:

“It wasn’t saying I’m better or superior than anyone else. I would never look at myself as bigger. It was interpreted different than what I wanted ... Everyone has to move on with their lives and I do, too.”

That, unlike the comments that drew heat, is about pitch perfect.

Unfortunately, vastly fewer members of Hater Nation will see these quotes, both because we’re removed from the immediate aftermath of the LeBron Schadenfreude Dance Party and because j’accuse will always be more notable than the retraction or clarification.

But let it be noted: LeBron (says he) doesn’t take glee in knowing you have a stubborn mortgage or need a root canal or work two jobs to make ends meet or drive a ‘97 Aerostar. He just think we can all move on with our lives.
