At Deadspin, Luke O’Brien does excellent work tearing down not the idea that Dirk Nowitzki is soft -- Dirk did that just fine by himself -- but the idea that Nowitzki once was soft and somehow changed over his years in the NBA. The revisionist history by very popular columinsts that O’Brien highlights is astounding, and the coda is pitch perfect.
