Mark Cuban Attempts To End Lawsuit Against Him Via Championship Photo

Never let it be said Mark Cuban doesn't like a good legal zing. Cuban had been sued by minority partners in the Mavericks (known as Hillwood Investment Properties), who alleged that he spent too much money on the team, and that said money should instead by paid out to the partners. "Mismanagement" was alleged. These minority owners, mind you, owned the Mavericks through its dark ages.

From the Dallas Observer via Deadspin, a brief filed by Cuban's attorneys in the case includes a half-page photo of Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs hoisting the NBA Championship trophy and this passage:

↵↵Under Hillwood’s ownership, the team was deemed the “worst franchise” in all of professional sports. Under Cuban’s stewardship the Mavericks have become one of the league’s most successful teams and are now NBA champions. Accordingly, there can be no genuine question that Hillwood’s claims of mismanagement lack merit and Hillwood’s claims should be disposed of on summary judgment.
