VIDEO: Reporter Asks If Players Could Use ‘Trip To Sausage-Making Plant’ During NBA Lockout

Now that the NBA lockout is officially here, it’s time for people to get all sanctimonious about how a bunch of guys who already make millions playing a game can somehow ask for more money while important people like teachers and firemen make so little money. I probably don’t need to tell you why that statement is ridiculous, but in case I do: the players are not striking; they are being locked out by billionaires who want their game to profit.

One such person who feels like getting sanctimonious is this reporter, who had the gall to ask David Stern and Adam Silver about whether NBA players could benefit from a “trip to the sausage-making plant.”

Here’s a transcript of the full question:

Amid the specifics we’re hearing -- BRI percentage, etc -- I just want to ask a big-picture question. Nothing implied, just want your opinion. Have the players forgotten what it means to earn $3 million, $4 million a year, and perhaps would benefit from a trip to the sausage-making plant or GM plant?

Thankfully, Stern didn't take the bait and said the dollars were being "generated by the system." Maybe the solution here is for Kobe Bryant and Jerry Buss to hold hands as they collect bushels of corn from the fields.
