Where there's smoke, there's fire, at least when it comes to Monta Ellis trade rumors. The Golden State Warriors guard is indeed on the block, and he and the team are working together to find a new destination for him, according to CBS Sports' Ken Berger. Berger quotes a source saying the talks are "pretty hot."
Monta Ellis Trade Rumor Is ‘Pretty Hot,’ Swap With Andre Iguodala Possible, According To Report
The Warriors and representatives for Monta Ellis are working cooperatively to see if a trade to a contending team can be arranged, a deal that would likely happen around the NBA draft later this month, a person with knowledge of the discussions told CBSSports.com.
"It's pretty hot," the person familiar with the talks said.
The major discussion still centers around a swap for Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala, which is a "50-50 proposition" now, a source tells Berger. The Trail Blazers, Bulls, Hawks and Lakers are the other teams interested in acquiring Ellis.
The 76ers have discussed trading Iguodala, but are not keen on moving him in just in a salary dump. They would like to get more value back.
