This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things IX

From Bruce Arthur of the National Post on July 4, 2009:

↵↵[Hedo] Turkoglu broke off negotiations with Portland late in the evening, choosing instead to negotiate with Toronto. The Raptors can offer a five-year deal beginning around US$10-million per year, with annual raises bringing the contract’s maximum total to approximately US$56-million.

↵↵Turkoglu averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists and shot 40 percent in one season in Toronto, and pissed off a majority of fans, if the internet is any indication. He has been traded in salary dumps twice in the two years since signing his contract.
