Kobe Bryant Among NBA Superstars Playing In Exhibition In Philippines

In yet another sign that an NBA lockout won't be enough to prevent professional basketball players from playing basketball, a number of key superstars are signed up to play in a charity game in the Philippines over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles Times. The list includes Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Derrick Williams, Tyreke Evans, JaVale McGee and Derek Fisher.

The squad, which has not been finalized, will play games on July 23 and 24 against the Phiippine Basketball Association’s All-Star team and the Smart GIlas national team. In fact, one of the coaches of a Philippine team has already been tweeting about when the “NBA superstars fly in.”

There's also apparently the possibility that Bryant and Fisher, both represented by the same agent, will be part of a tour that will travel across China to play a bunch of exhibition games. Meanwhile, there's still the Summer League showdown scheduled in Washington D.C. next month, as well as all the other summer leagues these players join all the time. Throw in a potential overseas exodus that was started by Deron Williams, and clearly, there is basketball to be played.
