Did Javale McGee Pull Off The First Ever In-Game Planking?

Javalemcgee_medium

The planking craze has died down a little over the past few weeks, but damnit, Javale McGee isn’t done yet. The man who calls himself Pierre is just getting started. And if you’d been wondering when some athlete was going to take things a step too far and plank during an actual sporting event... Well, it didn’t take long.

It was inevitable, really.

Video of Javale’s plank is after the jump.

It happened during an exhibition game in the Philippines, and the craziest part about this video isn’t the planking at the end, but that it comes after Javale dribbles the length of the court for a dunk, then runs the length of the court the other way for a jaw-dropping block. Then he planks.

In other words, it’s the ultimate Javale McGee highlight. Insane athleticism, highlights on both ends, and then to top it off, literally revolutionary levels of stupidity. Video comes via NBC Washington:

Athletes, the bar has been raised/lowered. Want to make history now? Better try something new, like planking during a meeting with the President, or planking during a parole hearing. Or during a playoff game. Or in the delivery room during child birth. Or... Yeah, the planking craze may be mostly dead, but there’s still plenty of room for Javale to break new ground. Can somebody see what Michael Wilbon thinks about all this?
