VIDEO: LeBron James Plays In Drew League, Throws Down Windmill Dunk
LeBron James' summer league tour continued on Saturday when he took part in the famous Los Angeles Drew League. James became the latest big star to stop by, joining Kevin Durant, Ron Artest, Baron Davis and others. You could interpret this as James shedding his supposed "holier than thou" reputation, or you can just say he wanted somewhere to play basketball. Your call.
Most of the players there enjoyed playing with him. Via Yahoo! Sports:
“It was a great experience to just play with a guy like that,” said Casper Ware, a senior guard at Long Beach State who played on James’ team Saturday. “He was still passing even though he was LeBron. He just wanted me to play my game. He told me, ‘Don’t stand around and just throw me the ball. Play your game. I can get mine. Play your game and don’t change for me.’
“He was very cool and down to earth. You could talk to him like any other player.”
The only question left is whether James coming to Los Angeles gives the Drew League any more bragging rights before its August showdown with D.C.‘s Goodman League. The answer: probably not, seeing as James would probably get a horrible reception in D.C.
