Samaki Walker, last seen getting punched in the face by Kobe Bryant and/or rocking the most pimptastic draft suit this side of Jalen Rose, has been out of the NBA for almost five years now. But last week he still managed to make the news:
Report: Samaki Walker Tried To Eat All His Weed, Got Caught Anyway
Arizona authorities allege former NBA basketball player Samaki Walker tried to eat marijuana as a Department of Public Safety officer approached his 2002 Mercedes-Benz during a traffic stop Thursday.
“So... Wait. He really tried to eat it all?”
“How much did he have?”
“Like, a joint?”
Think bigger.
Officials said about 10 grams of marijuana was seized from the vehicle...
Yikes. That’s a lot of weed to be shoving down your throat.
Police also seized “some prescription drugs and eight bottles of liquid steroids,” which Walker admitted he was taking to help his Syrian basketball career. Double yikes. Not only was he forced to endure the humiliation of eating his weed, but now he’s an admitted steroid user.
All together, about as brutal a “bottomed out ex-athlete” story as you’ll find anywhere, so here’s to hoping he uses this as a wake-up call. But for the record, this is why most of today’s players have hidden compartments in their cars. Did Samaki learn nothing from his time in the NBA?
