John Wall returned home to play in the semifinals of the North Carolina Pro-Am League playoffs on Wednesday night, scoring 36 points and throwing in a dazzling athletic display. Naturally, the fans responded by booing him.
Wait, what? According to Wall himself, there were some people in the crowd who weren’t so thrilled with him.

It’s not clear why that would be, though as you can see in the video, he was really jawing with North Carolina Central guard Dominique Sutton. Maybe the crowd was trying to rally behind the hometown kid and were upset that Wall engaged him. Who knows.
Either way, it’s kind of nuts that we’ve reached the point where pros are being booed for playing in these random summer leagues. It’s not like the pros have to show, you know.
