The 2011 Basketball Hall of Fame class will be inducted in a ceremony held Friday night in Springfield, Mass., among what is expected to be a pretty decent amount of members that made it in year’s past. It’s tough to tell exactly how interesting the speeches are going to be, but there’s no doubt a few of the newest Hall of Fame members were rather interesting during their playing careers.

The 2011 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class is led by Dennis Rodman and Chris Mullin, two players that should be quite familiar to those that follow the game, but the entire class includes 10 people who have contributed to sport.

Along with Rodman and Mullin, Teresa Edwards, Artis Gilmore, Herb Magee, Arvydas Sabonis, Tom “Satch” Sanders, Tara VanderVeer, Tex Winter and the late Reece “Goose” Tatum will also be honored at Friday night’s ceremonies.

Edwards and VanderVeer were inducted by the Hall of Fame’s Women’s Committee, Sabonis via the International Committee, Tatum from the Early African-American Pioneers of the Game Committee, Gilmore comes in by way of the ABA Committee, Sanders via the Veteran’s Committee and Mullin, Rodman, Magee and Winter were all voted in by the North American Committee.

The enshrinement ceremon for the Class of 2011 will begin at 7 p.m. EDT at the Springfield Symphony Hall and be broadcast on NBA TV.
