VIDEO: Kevin Durant Scores 66 Points At Rucker Park
Once upon a time, Rucker Park, located in Harlem, was the premier outdoor summer league pick-up basketball venue. It's now been matched by several other leagues across the country, but it's still Rucker Park. That was reason enough for Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant to drop in on his worldwide summer league tour, and what resulted was pretty memorable.
Durant scored 66 points in the game, dazzling the crowd with unbelievable long-range shooting. This is just the fourth quarter, so you have to assume he was at least as incredible in the first three quarters. He was so on fire that the crowd stormed the court and mobbed him before security had to get them to back off.
As far as summer league performances go, Durant's point total is still second-best to Brandon Jennings, who scored 81 points in a game earlier this summer. But that was in a Long Beach charity game. Durant did it outdoors at arguably the most famous outdoor venue in the country. Durant wins.
