LeBron James Says Week After NBA Finals Was ‘Worst Week I Ever Had’

LeBron James gave a long interview to Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype that was mostly filled with the kind of robotic answers we're used to hearing from LeBron. For example, when asked about his dreadful NBA Finals, LeBron said the week after was the worst week he's had in his entire life.

How was the week following the defeat at the Finals?

LJ: It was the worst week I ever had. I hate losing.

What did you do?

LJ: I did nothing. Nothing at all.

This seems fairly extreme after what happened post-Decision, but it’s also what people want to hear, so LeBron provided it. Speaking of The Decision...

... LeBron also said he knew he had no chance to win the MVP last year as soon as he left Cleveland.

Did you think you have a real shot at winning the MVP last season?

LJ: No.

Why?

LJ: Just the thing I did. The change from Cleveland to Miami wasn’t going to allow me to win the MVP.

Yeah, that “thing” you did. Truth is, LeBron is right. He could have averaged 45 points and 20 rebounds per game and still not won MVP because of the residue from what happened over the summer. MVP voting is funny and unfair like that. That’s why, as much as I want to mock LeBron for this next quote, I can’t.

What about next season?

LJ: I got a chance. But they made me take a year off.

You know what? That sounds like something Michael Jordan would say.
