Zach Randolph’s Friends Should Be Treated Like Heroes, Really

At least according to Ronald Tillery, Grizzlies beat writer for the Memphis Commercial-Appeal.

Boy, its tough being a cop near Portland, Ore. I mean who do you go after: an admitted drug dealer or the people who beat down the admitted drug dealer?

Think that's funny. Well, here's the real punch line: the admitted drug dealer in the Zach Randolph-related assault is interviewed on television telling his story. WITHOUT HANDCUFFS!

In case you missed it, a weed dealer alleges he was invited to Zach Randolph’s house for a party at which said dealer would ply his trade for Zach Randolph’s friends. But something went wrong, and 4-7 of the partygoers beat up the weed dealer. Police visited Randolph and took some evidence. Randolph himself is not alleged to be one of the attackers, and no charges have been pressed.

Tillery is under the impression that because the alleged victim was up to no good, it’s okay to rough him up. Now excuse me for cutting this short, but I see a jaywalker I need to run over.
