Ron Artest Will Become Metta World Peace—Just As Soon He Pays Off All Those Tickets

Sadly, the news we've been waiting for all summer long won't come Friday. Despite a hearing in L.A. court that was supposed to make the his name change official, it seems the name "Ron Artest" will live on, at least for a few more weeks. Because the judge said he's got too many outstanding traffic warrants, which is just about the most perfectly Ron Artest story we've ever heard—at least until he officially changes his name in hopes of sparking world peace. Alas, before you can change the world... Gotta pay those tickets, Ron.
