Darius Miles Arrested For Gun Possession At St. Louis Airport
Darius Miles was arrested on Wednesday, after attempting to bring a loaded gun through airport security.
According to the Associated Press, Miles was detained and booked by police on Wednesday afternoon, and released shortly thereafter. A spokesman for the TSA at Lambert Airport declined to confirm Miles’ identity, but confirmed that police had detained a man for attempting to carry a gun through security on Wednesday afternoon.
For Miles, a native of East St. Louis, Wednesday's arrest is just the latest twist in a downward spiral that's engulfed him almost his entire career. He was drafted no. 3 overall by the L.A. Clippers in 2000, but since then, his career has been full of immaturity, mediocrity, and mistakes.
He played for Los Angeles, Cleveland, Portland, and Memphis during his decade in the NBA, but at just 29 years old, he’s been unable to find a place in the league since 2009. Police in St. Louis haven’t filed charges as of yet, but for Miles’ reputation, you’d have to think the damage is already done.
