For the duration of his NBA career, Andre Miller has been a regular starting point guard. He's never been an All-Star, but he's been a very consistent, starter-quality guy for over a decade. He's nearing what is likely the end of a very successful career, and at 35-years-old, he is now a backup point guard. There is a problem, however, and that problem is that Miller thinks he should be a starter. Here's what he told FOX Sports.

Andre Miller has been a starter for his entire career, and he’s not terribly happy about being Ty Lawson’s backup
“At this point in my career, I don’t see myself as a backup. For 13 years, I wasn’t a backup before. This is a short season, so I’ll deal with it. But I don’t see myself as a backup at this point in my career. I don’t see that.”
This is the unfortunate reality of the trade that sent Miller to a team that already has Ty Lawson. Lawson is just 24-years-old, improved significantly between his rookie and sophomore seasons, and now appears to be playing his best basketball yet in his third year. Miller was productive as a starter in Portland last year, so his concerns are understandable, but he might be hard pressed to find a team willing to hand a starting role to a 36-year-old next season.
