Dwight Howard is trying to be traded from the Orlando Magic, but it seems he'll end up in the team's record books before that actually happens. Howard needs to score just 26 points on Monday night against the Boston Celtics to become the franchise's all-time leading scorer.

Dwight Howard will attempt to break the Orlando Magic’s all-time scoring record on Monday night when he faces off against Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics on the road.

The intimidating post presence has had other things on his mind this season as he continuously adds new teams to his list of possible trade destinations, so it makes sense he wasn’t aware of breaking Nick Anderson’s all-time scoring record when asked about it by the Orlando Sentinel.
Howard said he wasn’t even aware he was approaching Anderson’s long-standing mark of 10,650 points.
“I never thought about it,” Howard told me. “I guess that’s a milestone.”
Howard has scored 10,625 points, and stands to hold the record for a while.
Howard has needed just seven-plus seasons to climb past Anderson, who accomplished the feat in 10 seasons with the Magic. Then again, he had to share the ball as a shooting guard with Shaquille O’Neal, Dennis Scott and Penny Hardaway.
Whether Howard picks up the scored record on Monday in Boston or against the Indiana Pacers in the Magic's next game, it seems safe to say that he's going to break the franchise's record before he gets traded and breaks their heart.
