Dirk was injured for Wednesday’s Mavs game, so during the first half somebody gave him a mic. And then came a Brandan Knight fastbreak dunk, and the exchange above. Video is below.
It’s great to see that Dirk channeling the Gus Johnson, WCW-style announcing here, only with just the right amount of European goofiness to make it completely awesome and endearing.
Here’s to hoping Wednesday was just the beginning, and one day Dirk will be announcing basketball games full time. Or football games. Or baseball games. Or chess games. Or pretty much anything. Because couldn’t everything could use an over-excited German on color commentary?
