No. 19 Virginia Vs. Boston College: Cavaliers Roll, 66-49

Virginia withstood a late charge from Boston College for an easy win on Thursday.

The No. 19 Virginia Cavaliers had little trouble with the Boston College Eagles on Thursday night. The Cavaliers used a balanced offensive attack and their trademark defense to strangle the Eagles for a 66-49 victory.

Four players scored in double figures for the Cavs, who had seven players score six or more points. Mike Scott led all scorers with 18 points, and Virginia recorded 10 steals on the night. After Boston College closed to 50-46 late in the second half, the Cavaliers closed on a 16-3 run.

BC didn’t get much from its offense on the night. The Eagles had just one player, Ryan Anderson, in double figures, and Anderson only managed 12 points on 11 shots. No Eagle made more than four field goal, and just two made more than two; Boston College struggled from the field as a team, shooting just over 40 percent.
