With the New Jersey Nets reeling, star point guard Deron Williams will sit due to bruised ribs for the team's Wednesday game against the Boston Celtics, the team has announced. The Nets are 1-5, and better only than the 0-5 Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference.
Deron Williams Injury: Nets’ Star To Sit With Sore Ribs Vs. Celtics
Deron Williams will miss the reeling New Jersey Nets’ game against the Boston Celtics.

The Nets lost Brook Lopez, the team's starting center, second-best player and top trade bait, in the preseason and hasn't recovered. It's unclear how good the Nets would have been even with Lopez, given that New Jersey didn't light the world on fire last season after acquiring Williams for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors and a package of picks in February.
This season, Williams has averaged 17.3 points on abysmal 36.6 percent shooting, with just 6.0 assists and 4.3 turnovers per game. The sixth-year guard has made the All-Star Game in each of the past two seasons, but seems far off the path this year.
