Doron Lamb Injury: Bucks G has torn elbow ligament, will miss training camp

The Milwaukee Bucks announced on Monday at the team's media day that rookie guard Doron Lamb will be held out of training camp activities due to an elbow injury. During an interview with the media, Lamb revealed that he suffered a torn ligament in his left elbow while trying to defend a pick-and-roll play during team practices. When asked whether he will need surgery, Lamb responded: "I hope it heals on its own."

The Bucks drafted the former Kentucky Wildcats guard with the the No. 42 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, and he was expected to compete for playing time in the back court behind Brandon Jennings, Monta Ellis, Beno Udrih and recently-signed veteran Marquis Daniels. Lamb won't turn 21 until Nov. 6, and he is considered a developmental prospect for the Bucks, but this setback is disappointing news for a team that needs some help with three-point shooting.

Meanwhile, forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will also miss training camp while still recovering from off-season surgery he had to repair a partial tear of his patella tendon.

The Bucks signed four players for training camp on Monday, including former Wisconsin Badgers star Alando Tucker, former Bucks guard Eddie Gill, and two guards from the NBA Developmental League -- Orien Greene and Mustapha Farrakhan.
