NBA preseason action continued with six contests on Wednesday night, and although the outcomes don't particularly matter, Houston Rockets rookie forward Terrence Jones and Detroit Pistons forward Andre Drummond left some seriously positive vibes after posting two of the best performances of the night.

Six NBA preseason games unfolded on Wednesday night, and rookies Andre Drummond (12 points, seven rebounds, two blocks) and Terrence Jones (20 points, six rebounds, one block) turned in some of the most impressive performances of the evening.

Drummond, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, played well with teammates Rodney Stuckey and Brandon Knight, helping lift the Pistons to a 101-99 victory over the Toronto Raptors by posting 12 points on 6-8 shooting, seven rebounds (three offensive), two blocks and two steals. His nifty put back 35 seconds left on the clock sealed the victory for Detroit, but perhaps the best sign was that Drummond remained on the floor during the closing minutes of a close game.
Meanwhile, Terrence Jones distinguished himself in an otherwise crowded Rockets backcourt by pouring in a game-high 20 points on 8-14 shooting, along with six rebounds and a block, to pace Houston in a 107-105 win over Russell Westbrook (19 points, 6-9 FG, three assists) and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jeremy Lin added a game-high six assists and three steals in 20 minutes of action.
Elsewhere around the league, Brandon Roy logged 24 minutes of action for the Minnesota Timberwolves and produced an encouraging line of 13 points on 5-9 shooting and four assists in the team's breezy 84-70 win over Paul George (16 points, six rebounds, five turnovers) and the Indiana Pacers. With fans looking for Roy to stay healthy and show some burst during his attempted comeback, the first rounds of evidence are enough to sustain optimism for the moment.
Rookie point guard Damian Lillard (14 points, seven assists, five rebounds) held his own against Steve Nash (13 points, four rebounds, four assists) as the Portland Trail Blazers toppled the Los Angeles Lakers, 93-75, thanks to a 49-31 second-half run.
To prove it's still the preseason and that everything should be taken with a grain of salt, look no further than the line former T'Wolves draft bust Wesley Johnson put up in the Phoenix Suns' exhibition loss to the Kings. DeMarcus Cousins led all scorers with 21 points, but Wes Johnson came off the bench for the Suns and dropped in a team-high 18 points on 7-15 shooting over 24 minutes of action.
