NBA preseason scores: Kobe scores 31, Blatche leads Nets to win

Kobe Bryant notched 31 points in a losing effort on Tuesday night.

Despite Kobe Bryant's 31 points, the Los Angeles Lakers (0-4) fell to the Utah Jazz (3-1), 114-80. Lakers coach Mike Brown kept Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard on the bench.

Back in the East, the Brooklyn Nets (3-0) narrowly edged out the Boston Celtics (0-3), 97-96. Andray Blatche was the Nets' leading scorer, with 23 points. The teams will meet again on Thursday, but this time in Brooklyn.

In the night's only international game, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Maccabi Haifa, 114-81. Kevin Love scored 24 for Minnesota, in addition to grabbing eight rebounds. Brandon Roy added 19 points.

Paul George led the Indiana Pacers (2-1) to a 102-98 win over the Atlanta Hawks (1-3), tallying 20 points and eight rebounds. Lou Williams was Atlanta's top scorer, with 18.
