Friday NBA preseason scores: Warriors win, but lose Stephen Curry

Friday was a busy night in NBA preseason action, and while the Golden State Warriors improved to 5-1, they lost Stephen Curry to an ankle injury.

Troy Taormina-US PRESSWIRE

Friday was a busy night in the NBA preseason as 14 teams were in action. While several stars turned in solid performances, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry left the game with an ankle injury.

Curry left during the second quarter of the Warriors game against the Portland Trail Blazers when he rolled his ankle. He did not return to the game, but the team said the injury was just a sprain and Curry was not scheduled for an MRI. With Curry out, David Lee led the Warriors with 24 points as they improved to 5-1 with a 101-97 win against Portland.

New York's Carmelo Anthony also scored 24 points, but the Knicks dropped their first game of the preseason, losing 107-88 to Toronto. While the Knicks lost their first preseason game, the Lakers dropped their fifth straight, falling to 0-5 in the preseason. Kobe Bryant scored 22 points, but Los Angeles lost 103-98 to the Kings.

After not scoring more than 13 points in his first three preseason games, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 22 points on Friday as Oklahoma City knocked off Phoenix 107-97. Other results on Friday included the Magic knocking off the Pacers 112-96, the 76ers beating Brooklyn 106-96 and the Chicago Bulls picking up a 92-81 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
