Tyson Chandler was seen with crutches by his side after Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, according to the New York Post. The Knicks center injured his left knee early in the preseason game and did not return.

A knee injury could sideline the Knicks’ center.

Chandler has had knee issues in the past, so the injury is a concern. As the Knicks’ top defender, he will surely be missed in the middle of the defense – if he is forced to sit out the beginning of the regular season.
Last season, his first with the Knicks, Chandler averaged 11.3 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
If Chandler is forced to miss time with the injury, Marcus Camby will likely fill in for him at center. Camby, though, has been nursing a calf injury, and if neither center can go on opening night, Kurt Thomas might be asked to fill in.
The Knicks’ season begins on Nov. 1 against the same Nets they played tonight.
