Sacramento Kings starting point guard Isaiah Thomas limped off the floor during the fourth quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers in San Diego. According to the Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones, Thomas rolled his ankle and did not return to the game. Jones later tweeted Thomas appeared to be fine walking after the game.

Isaiah Thomas left Thursday’s preseason victory over the Lakers after rolling his ankle in the fourth quarter.

Thomas is expected to be the Kings' starting point guard when the regular season begins next week. The Kings also signed Aaron Brooks over the summer, which has allowed head coach Keith Smart to tinker with his line up during the preseason, starting Brooks at times and bringing Thomas off the bench. Guards Jimmer Fredette, Marcus Thorton and Tyreke Evans have also spent time playing point guard for the Kings over the last two seasons.
Thomas, the last pick of the 2011 NBA Draft, came out of nowhere last season, finishing the season as the Kings’ starting point guard and picking up two Western Conference Player of the Month awards. The Kings open the regular season next Wednesday at Chicago.
