Eric Maynor, Thunder table contract extension talks, according to report

The back-up point guard for the Thunder tore his ACL in January and missed the remainder of the 2011-12 season.

With Wednesday's deadline to re-sign players drafted in 2009 approaching, the Thunder appear content to allow Eric Maynor to become a restricted free agent during the 2013 summer. The two sides have agreed to table contract extension negotiations, according to a report from Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman.

After being taken with the No. 20 selection in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz, Maynor played in 26 games with the team before he was traded to the Thunder. While he hasn't started a game since the trade, Maynor has seen action in 146 games with the Thunder, serving in a back-up role for Russell Westbrook. Maynor tore his ACL in January 2012 and missed the remainder of the 2011-12 season, including the postseason.

Prior to the injury, Maynor appeared in nine games, averaging 15.2 minutes per game in which he tallied 4.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Maynor will become a restricted free agent in the summer and be allowed to sign offer sheets from teams that the Thunder will have the option to match.
