DeMar DeRozan unlikely to receive contract extension from Raptors, according to report

DeMar DeRozan is unlikely to receive a contract extension from the Toronto Raptors before Wednesday's midnight deadline, according Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

DeRozan has started all 145 games in which he as has played for the Raptors in the past two seasons. In 2011-12, DeRozan averaged 16.7 points and 3.3 rebounds on 42.2 percent shooting from the field.

In 222 career games with the Raptors, DeRozan has averaged 14.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game.

The Raptors selected DeRozan ninth overall in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft out of USC. James Harden, Ty Lawson, Stepen Curry and Blake Griffin have already received extensions from their respective teams.

The Raptors selected guard Terrence Ross out of Washington eighth overall in the 2012 NBA Draft while also signing Landry Fields to a long-term deal in the off-season.

The Raptors open the season on Wednesday versus the Indiana Pacers.
