The NBA announced earlier today that they have postponed the regular season opener between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Thursday due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. No makeup date for the game was announced.
Brooklyn is still scheduled to play Toronto at home on Nov. 3.
Friday will now be New York’s season opener at Madison Square Garden against the 1-0 Miami Heat.
The Heat defeated the Boston Celtics, 120-107, on Tuesday despite being without LeBron James who missed most of the second half after suffering from cramps.
The Knicks will be without Amar’e Stoudemire on Friday as he’s expected to miss the next 6-to-8 weeks due to a left knee injury.
