Tracy McGrady is reportedly finalizing a one-year contract to play for Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrain Wojnarowski. McGrady was not able to get a guaranteed contract during the offseason, and has apparently decided against trying to make an NBA roster in training camp. McGrady worked out for the Spurs and the Knicks in the offseason, but was not able to claim a roster spot. The Chinese season ends in March, so he may be able to return to the NBA for a team looking to bolster its roster for a playoff run.

Former NBA All Star Tracy McGrady is close to signing a one-year deal with Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association, and may never play in the NBA again.

McGrady played 15 seasons in the NBA, and averaged 19.6 points per game, 4.4 assists per game, and 5.6 rebounds per game. A seven-time All Star, McGrady was hampered over the second half of his career by a rash of injuries, greatly diminishing what was once one of the best athletes in the league.
