According to a tweet from the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan, the Los Angeles Lakers have not contacted Mike D'Antoni about replacing Mike Brown as head coach due to the increasingly strong chances of former head coach Phil Jackson's return.
Lakers ‘all in’ on Phil Jackson, reportedly decline meetings with other candidates
The Lakers have focused all their attention on the possible return of their former coach, Phil Jackson.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports! also added in a tweet that the Lakers will meet with Jackson today and have declined meetings with any other candidates. Wojnarowski’s source says that the Lakers are “all in on Phil.”
The Lakers fired Brown on Friday after a 1-4 start to the Lakers’ season. With a star-studded lineup, the start was not what Lakers’ brass expected and they didn’t see any improvement among the team and felt that it was time to make a change.
Jackson and D’Antoni have been mentioned as the top two candidates to replace Brown, but Jackson has clearly become the frontrunner for the position. If Jackson returns, it will be his third stint with the Lakers. His first stint produced three championships and his second produced two. Jackson has 11 championships total as a head coach after winning six while in Chicago with Michael Jordan.
