The first trade of the 2012-13 NBA season is official, as the Charlotte Bobcats announced that they have traded Matt Carroll to the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for Hakim Warrick.
Bobcats trade Matt Carroll to Hornets for Hakim Warrick
Matt Carroll was traded by the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday, in exchange for Hakim Warrick.

Tuesday's trade marks the third time that Carroll has been involved in a trade with the Bobcats. Charlotte traded Carroll to the Dallas Mavericks in 2009, before being re-acquired by the Bobcats in a July 2010 trade that sent Tyson Chandler to the Mavericks.
Carroll has played just six minutes for the Bobcats this season.
Warrick's stint in New Orleans was brief. Warrick was acquired by New Orleans in July 2012, in a three-team trade with the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves. Tuesday's trade marks the fourth time Warrick has been traded in his career.
Charlotte will mark the sixth team Warrick has played for, as he's also played for the Memphis Grizzles, Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns.
Like Carroll, Warrick has received only limited playing time this season, appearing in just one game and playing seven minutes.
