The Washington Wizards scored 76 points in a loss to the lowly Charlotte Bobcats last night. If you want to relive the wreckage, do so here. If you want to laugh at the Wizards instead (which I figure you do), watch this.
Jordan Crawford pulls a fast one on a referee
The Wizards’ guard tried to sneak in to shoot free throws for his poor-shooting teammate.

At one point midway through the third quarter, Jan Vesely was fouled on an off-ball screen and got two free throws. Vesely, however, is a poor shooter from the stripe (just 47 percent for his career), and the Wizards needed points. So, Jordan Crawford, a career 80 percent free-throw shooter, had a brilliant idea. He walked up to the line as if he was the one who got fouled, pushing Vesely away.
Here’s a GIF of the entire sequence, via Truth About It.
It almost worked, too! Crawford hit the first free throw before the referees realized what happened and sent Vesely to the line. Naturally, Vesely bricked both shots. Here’s video of the whole sequence.
See? The Wizards are capable of doing something smart every once in a while.
