Dell Demps signs contract extension with New Orleans Hornets
The New Orleans Hornets have announced the signing of general manager Dell Demps to a multi-year contract extension.

Demps was hired by the Hornets on July 27, 2010, to be the seventh general manager in team history. In the past couple of seasons, Demps has completely turned over the roster, including a blockbuster trade that sent star Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers and brought Eric Gordon to New Orleans. That trade happened after an initial agreement to send Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers was vetoed.
In the 2012 NBA Draft, Demps selected Anthony Davis with the No. 1 overall pick and Austin Rivers with the No. 10 pick. This offseason, Demps acquired Ryan Anderson, the 2011-12 NBA's Most Improved Player, as well as Robin Lopez, the team's starting center. Demps also decided to match a four-year, $58 million offer sheet for Gordon from the Phoenix Suns.
Under Demps’ watch, New Orleans has made the playoffs once and has compiled a regular season record of 70-84.
