NBA scores: Clippers, Spurs cruise to easy wins

The Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs got easy wins on Saturday night. Here’s a round-up of Saturday’s NBA action.

Stephen Dunn

Clippers 101, Bulls 80

This game was close for about a quarter. Then, the Clippers reserves came in, and that was pretty much that. When one team can bring Eric Bledsoe and Jamal Crawford off its bench and the other counters with Nate Robinson and Marco Belinelli, it's a huge mismatch. Crawford had 22, Bledsoe had 10 and Blake Griffin scored 26 as the Clippers blew past the Bulls.

Spurs 126, Nuggets 100

We need to talk about the Nuggets, folks. Everyone’s sleeper pick to be a Western Conference contender is now 4-6 after laying an egg against the Spurs. This was a 41-17 game at one point in the second quarter, and things never really got better from there. The Spurs played well, of course, but this is more about the Nuggets. When are they going to stop committing dumb turnovers and actually look like the high-powered offense they were advertised to be?

Grizzlies 94, Bobcats 87

The Grizzlies shot just 39 percent from the field and won relatively easily on the road against a Bobcats team that’s playing pretty good ball right now. They should be thrilled with this win.

Heat 97, Suns 88

Dwyane Wade, injured? LeBron James, sick? No problem, the Heat still have Chris Bosh. Bosh dominated with 24 points on just 11 shots, and James gave the Heat just enough to put away the pesky Suns down the stretch.

Celtics 107, Raptors 89

We were supposed to see a different Rajon Rondo this year, one that shot as much as he passed. We've seen that most of the year, but Rondo turned back the clock a little against the Raptors, dishing out 20 assists while scoring just six points in a blowout Celtics win. That'll probably work against the Raptors, but Boston surely wants a more aggressive Rondo going forward.

Bucks 117, Hornets 113

Giving up 113 points to the Hornets is kind of embarrassing, but the Bucks will take the win thanks to some clutch shots from Monta Ellis and a huge block by Larry Sanders on Ryan Anderson late in the game. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis had 28 points and 11 rebounds for New Orleans. Through six games, his PER is 25.8. So, yeah, he's doing just fine.

Mavericks 103, Cavaliers 95

When Kyrie Irving tied this game at 89 midway through the fourth quarter, it looked like another one that the Cavaliers would steal away. Instead, O.J. Mayo stepped up with some huge shots, Dahntay Jones got a massive block of Irving up three with 1:30 left, and the Mavericks got a much-needed win after getting blown out by the Pacers on Friday night.

Jazz 83, Wizards 76

If you score only 83 points against the Wizards, does it actually count as a victory? Probably not, but the Jazz will take it after losing six of their first seven road games this season.
