Darko Milicic is thinking about leaving the Boston Celtics to tend to his ill mother in Europe, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports on Monday afternoon.

The Serbian center is considering leaving the Celtics to be with his ailing mother in Europe.

Citing sources close to the situation, Wojnarowski states that Milicic is "leaning strongly" toward leaving the NBA for the remainder of the season in order to be with his mother in Serbia. Milicic did not travel with the team to Detroit this past weekend. Head coach Doc Rivers reportedly met with Milicic and told him to take as much time as he needs to make the decision.
Milicic was originally drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the No. 2 overall selection in the 2003 NBA Draft. After stops with the Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzles and Minnesota Timberwolves, Milicic signed a deal with the Celtics this past offseason.
After playing only five minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks, Milicic has not received any playing time this season. According to Wojnarowski's report, this has frustrated the 27 year old.
