Clippers vs. Spurs recap: Clippers improve to 8-2 with 92-87 win

The Los Angeles Clippers notched a 92-87 victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.

Despite trailing by 10 points in the first quarter, the Los Angeles Clippers rallied back and defeated the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, 92-87.

San Antonio got off to a fast start, leading 28-18 at the end of the first quarter. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili combined for 15 points in the quarter, but the Clippers stormed back in the second. Matt Barnes scored 10 points off the bench for Los Angeles and the Clippers erased the Spurs' advantage and took a 47-42 halftime lead. The Clippers outscored San Antonio, 29-14, in the second quarter.

The teams went back and forth in the second half. San Antonio pulled within two points, 87-85, with 2:26 to play, but the Clippers closed the game on a 5-0 run to hang on for the win. Five different Clippers scored in double figures, led by Chris Paul's 19 points. Blake Griffin posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Duncan led the way for San Antonio, with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

The win was the Clippers’ second victory against San Antonio this season. They previously beat the Spurs in the first meeting, 106-84, and have now won the first two of four meetings this season.
