Dirk Nowitzki injury update: Mavericks’ star gets closer to returning
A slow recovery from offseason knee injury has the 2011 NBA Finals MVP eyeing mid-December for a return to the court.

Just heard from Dirk at Mavs HQ. Dirk says he's hoping to start on-court work in approx 2 wks & needs 1-2 weeks after that to be game ready

After delaying surgery at the start of training camp in an effort to avoid surgery, Dirk has decided to take it slow so that problems don’t re-surface during the rest of the season.
If there are no further complications, he could be back in action in the second week of December.
The Mavs have gotten out to a decent 6-6 start without their only All-Star, but that’s mainly been the result of a very easy schedule to start the season. If Dallas is still at .500 when Dirk returns to the fold, it would be a major accomplishment.
