Kyle Lowry injury: Raptors PG returns vs. 76ers

Kyle Lowry is back in the lineup for the Toronto Raptors after missing several weeks with a bone bruise, although Jose Calderon retains the starting spot for the Raptors after recording four double-doubles in six games.

Kyle Lowry has returned to the Toronto Raptors lineup after missing six games, although Jose Calderon remains the starter as Lowry is still limited by a bone bruise on his right knee.

Lowry was supposedly expected to miss one to two weeks just five days ago, but he's playing tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, Calderon might remain the starter: since entering the lineup, the Spaniard has hit double-digits in five of six outings while also recording double-digit assists in two games, highlighted by a 20 and 17 effort against the Utah Jazz in triple overtime.

Lowry had started the team’s first four games before suffering the knee bruise, and had been averaging 18.3 points per game, which is good for second on the team. However, he’s probably not the passer Calderon is, with his high assist total on the season eight, lower than Calderon has registered in any of his six starts. John Lucas, who has played a reserve role, will likely see his minutes decrease as he is now the third-stringer at point guard.
