Nets vs. Heat 2012 results: Heat rally, beat Nets, 102-89

34 points from Dwyane Wade helped Miami beat Brooklyn for the second time this season.

US PRESSWIRE

Up by nine points at the halfway mark of Saturday's game against Miami, it looked like the Brooklyn Nets were going to avenge a blowout loss to the Heat earlier in the season with a big win of their own. But thanks to a huge third quarter, Miami rallied to take the second matchup of the season against Brooklyn, 102-89, in South Florida. Dwyane Wade led the charge with 34 points, 20 after the break, as the Heat extended its win streak to six games and snapped the Nets' five-game winning streak.

The Nets (11-5) came out of the gates strong, opening the game with a 15-4 run en route to a 24-16 first-quarter lead. Brooklyn pushed its lead as high as 12 points in the second quarter, but the Heat (12-4) hung around to keep the deficit to within single digits. At halftime, the Nets led, 59-50.

The second half was a different story. Led by 14 points from Wade, Miami blew Brooklyn out of the gym with a 32-19 third quarter to re-take the lead. In the fourth quarter, Miami’s defense clamped down, holding the Nets to just 11 points on 2-of-15 shooting to seal the win.

Along with Wade's 34 points and seven assists, the Heat got 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists from LeBron James, as well as 13 from Ray Allen off the bench. Andray Blatche had 20 points and eight boards for the Nets. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams were nowhere to be found in this one, combining for just 22 points on 8-of-25 shooting and eight turnovers. Johnson also missed seven three-pointers and both his free-throw attempts. All told, the Nets scored just 30 points after the half.

Miami's next game will be Dec. 4 against the one-win Wizards, while Brooklyn will battle with the Western Conference's Oklahoma City, also on Dec. 4.
