Philadelphia 76ers fans are getting an early Christmas present as it looks like center Andrew Bynum can finally start ramping up to get back on the floor.

Andrew Bynum has yet to see the floor this season for Philadelphia, but the 76ers said Friday that he is healing well and can increase his activity.

Bynum was acquired in a trade over the summer from the Los Angeles Lakers and has yet to play since joining the team while he deals with a right knee injury. Although the team is optimistic, Dan Gelston with the Associated Press also reports they're still taking things carefully even though the MRI results continue to improve.
The 7-footer is a free agent at the end of the season, and it’s unclear whether he would re-sign with the 76ers once his contract is finished. Bynum has played a full 82 games just once in his career during the 2006-2007 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He has played no more than 65 games in a season since then.
Last season, Bynum averaged a double-double, 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per contest for the Lakers.
