Pau Gasol injury: Lakers PF has plantar fasciitis, probable vs. Trail Blazers

Los Angeles Lakers big man Pau Gasol continues to struggle with injuries; he now has to deal with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Los Angeles Lakers power forward Pau Gasol has had to deal with injuries, and it appears that he'll have to gut it out. A recent MRI revealed that Gasol has plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Gasol is probable for Friday's game against the Portland Trailblazers.

Gasol has struggled this season, missing eight of 29 games for the Lakers. Gasol has struggled with tendinitis in both knees and missed the eight games in a recent stretch from Dec. 4 to the 16th. Gasol's stats reflect those problems. He's averaging career lows in points (12.6 per game this year compared to 17.4 last year) and field goal percentage (42 percent this year compared to 50 percent last).

The Lakers have struggled with or without Gasol, barely treading .500 in a season which involved championship aspirations. The mediocre record has led to a host of trade rumors involving the besieged Spaniard in hopes of improving the squad.
